Regardless of whether you purchased a niche wordpress site, a video game site or any other type of wordpress site from the cool peeps here at grooviness, you are absolutely safe to upgrade your version of wordpress to the newest 3.0 release. In fact, we encourage it as we do with all plugins you may have up and running. More often than not upgrades not only address functionality but security as well, so it’s always very wise to keep up to date on all the latest versions of any and all software you have on your server.
Quick Adsense Plugin Update
A majority of our clients should have the wordpress plugin "Quick Adsense" installed in your blogs. If you do, please be advised that there is an updated version available that has some great new features installed and may be worth the few seconds to upgrade. The plugin now boasts more options for your sidebar widget rather than the previous limitation of only three available ad units for that area. If you need help upgrading this plugin or would like us to do it for you, please submit a support ticket and we'll gladly help you out.
Hostgator and Unique Article Wizard Issues
For those of you hosting your sites with Hostgator, it seems as though the Unique Article Wizard plugin's originally set file permissions don't play well with the hostgator servers. Luckily, the fix is an easy one. In your /wp-content/plugins/unqiue_articles/ directory, change all the files contained within there to CHMOD 755 instead of the originally set 777 permissions. If you are unsure how to do this, please submit a support ticket and I'll take care of it for you.
